FINDING MY MUSE:
Students took the idea of MUSE to a whole new level. Using various collage artists for inspiration, students either recreated a specific work of art of a particular artist, or used the artist's design elements to inspire an original creation....


The above work was inspired by the cubist elements of Picasso...












The above right creation was a student's recreation of one of Matisse's many fish bowl compositions...

PASTE PAPERS:
Paste papers are one of the earliest methods used to decorate paper. From the late 16th century through the 18th century they were predominately used as book covers and as endsheets. Making paste includes easily obtained ingredients:  Flour, water and paint. (Click images to see work larger)
