My absolute favorite typography artist is Cecil Touchon. Born 1956 Austin, Texas, Touchon is a contemporary American collage artist, painter, published poet and theorist, who works in collage, assemblage and construction art. His work with typography abstractions is magical.
Below are some samples of his work. Think about how you can take one word or phrase important to you. Cut the letters apart and assemble them back together again.... You can hide a lot of meaning behind those cuts... And only you really has to know what they mean!
